GBC Motorsports Racers Tear It Up at Lucas Oil SoCal Regional Second Round
- Updated: April 10, 2014
GBC Motorsports racers headed to Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park this past weekend for the second round of the Lucas Oil Off Road Southern California Regional Series. GBC was represented well in the UTV classes and came away with a class victory and several podium finishes.
Paving the way for GBC drivers Saturday was Tommy Scranton in the UTV 1000 class. Tommy has been a loyal user of GBC tires for many years now in various race series around the southwest, like WORCS Racing and the Dirt Series. Scranton got off to a good start this season in the SoCal Regional, finishing 2nd in the opening round at Glen Helen back in February. Tommy followed up with a 1st place UTV 1000 class finish as well as the 1000/Unlimited overall victory in the second round at Elsinore, pushing him to the top of the class standings.
Scranton wasn’t the only GBC racer to put in top results. Steve Beilman piloted his GBC Dirt Commanders to a 3rd place finish in the Unlimited UTV class, notching the 9th best 1000/Unlimited combined time out of 20 competitors.
Carr One Racing’s Bryan Carr switched his team over GBC Kanati Mongrels for 2014 racing efforts and hasn’t looked back. Bryan finished 2nd in the Walker Evans Racing RZR class for the second straight race. Teammate Dan Worley finished 4th in the class, while Mike Lewis, Mark Patridge and Jake Yubeta raced their Carr One/Patridge Motorsports RZRs to 10th, 11th and 12th place finishes, respectively.
The next round of the Lucas Oil Off-Road SoCal Regional is slated for May 17th at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park. For a complete lineup of GBC Motorsports UTV tires visit GBCMotorsports.com and follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest racing updates.
