Dirty Dog Performance Adjustable Clutch Kits for UTVs

dirtydawglogoblckAfter our trip to Moab Utah and running 32” GBC Mongrel tires we wanted to address proper clutching as to assure maximum performance. No one does clutching better than Dirty Dawg, so here’s what we’ve learned from Dale Hilton, the Dirty Dawg himself…

Dale has had over 35 years of experience in the industry. He has been around the industry his whole life and what better way to pay bills than to do what you are passionate about. He has been into all kinds of snowmobile racing, and not just in the snow. He can make a sled rip in grass, asphalt and even water. Dale’s sleds have gone over 150 MPH! More importantly he has numerous drags, Snow Cross championships and much more. Now that’s tuning!

As for the UTV side of things, Dale puts his products through a lot of testing. He even drives his 2015 Polaris XP 900 to work everyday, not only to get to work and back, but for day to day testing. Now that’s an extreme way to make sure your developing fade-free products.

On to our needs, Dale was not only extremely knowledgeable and helpful, but one of the nicest guys in the industry. As everyone in the this industry can understand trying to get a hold of someone with his knowledge is often hard at times. Companies can be hard to reach and calls are often never returned, but that’s not the case with Dale, he answers the phone, and will return phone calls, which makes his clutch work priceless. Any issues, any problems — Dale will help you get our UTV dialed in.

Below is a photo caption summary of what was done to our 2015 Polaris RZR XP 4 1000….

Receiving our adjustable clutch was quick and easy, Dale had our clutch to us in 3 days. We asked for a set up for 30” tires and 32” tires. The purpose of running an adjustable one over a fixed clutch is the ability to tune it for different terrain and tire size. With the versatility of the Polaris RZR you can go ANYWHERE, that doesn’t mean that stock clutches perform their best everywhere. You have to know where you are going and set your clutch up accordingly, it may be the difference of a washer weighing a gram. Don’t worry though once you get your settings dialed in and you take notes you can adjust your clutch in your garage in minutes before each ride.
