As the BITD season continues on GBC Motorsports racers took to the desert terrain for the “Great American Off-Road Race” known as the Mint 400 for the third round of BITD Racing in Las Vegas.

The sun rose over a sandy horizon as the sound of open exhaust rumbled and the smell of high-octane race fuel drifted through the air. The iconic Mint 400 as we all know it was in full force. It was very evident of the race’s increasing popularity, as around 330 teams made their way to the legendary race this year. Making only two laps on the 100-mile course, the UTVs took off early Saturday morning and returned more than four hours later.

GBC Motorsports racers Wes Miller and co-driver Tommy Scranton took 6th in their Mongrel equipped RZR.

The Mint 400 has a history of pushing tires to the absolute limit, so what better place for drivers to put their Mongrels to the ultimate test. The Holz Racing team came to the Mint 400 in Las Vegas to show us what they truly have to offer as off-road racers. Team Holz Racing in their GBC Mongrel equipped Polaris RZR put together a very impressive race, coming from 52nd at the start all the way up to a physical 3rd. Between all the the UTVs they had to pass and the accumulating dust, their 2nd place finish is nothing short of amazing.

The rOtation Motorsports team also made an appearance in the top 10. Longtime GBC racers Wes Miller and co-driver Tommy Scranton navigated through the unforgiving desert terrain in their GBC Mongrel equipped Polaris RZR to finish overall in 6th place.

BITD Racing next heads to the Silver State 300 in May, and in the meantime GBC racers will prep for WORCS Round 4 in Lake Havasu, AZ in late March.
