Can-Am Ambassador Ken Block Showcases Custom Maverick

Block_Can-Am_MaverickMAX_Build1Performance driver and Can-Am ambassador Ken Block, of “Gymkhana” video fame, has lifted the cover off of his modified Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicles. Block and his Hoonigan team have personalized his units to fit his lifestyle, and have taken the first steps in their plan for showcasing the performance capabilities of the Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicles.

“Ken Block and his team have produced two stylish Maverick X rs 1000R Turbo side-by-side vehicles. They designed each vehicle with personality, functionality, yet didn’t alter the vehicles’ design too much from those models currently available in Can-Am dealerships. These photos have instant appeal to performance enthusiasts around the world,” said Marc-André, director, Global Marketing, Can-Am Off-Road.

Block’s team transformed the 131-horsepower, two-seat Can-Am Maverick X rs 1000R Turbo into a desert-conquering, recreational racer, complete with Lonestar Racing for Can-Am accessories and custom Beard Seats. The Hoonigan “surgeons” also built upon the Can-Am Maverick MAX X rs 1000R Turbo unit’s sporty-and-comfortable four-seat platform by converting it to a family getaway rig and mountain bike hauler.

“I’m super stoked on how these two builds turned out,” said Block on his Hoonigan Racing Division blog. “Can-Am has such an amazing platform from which to build with these things. The fact that they come turbo from the factory is a huge plus to me, since it means I don’t have to mess around with a ton of aftermarket engine stuff to have the speed and power that I want right out of the box. My team did a great job upgrading these though.”

The Hoonigan Racing Division started by unveiling the customized Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicle beauty shots taken at the Hoonigan headquarters in Park City, Utah. With gobs of appeal from their head-turning good looks, mods and factory-installed performance, Block couldn’t wait for phase 2, which was the action shoot in the high desert of Utah.

“My favorite thing about these Can-Am Off-Road Maverick X rs Turbo UTVs is that they’re pretty much a cross between two of my favorite vehicles: a dirt bike and a rally car,” stated Block, a skilled World Rally Championship racer, X Games medalist and viral video icon.

Block and his team have shared the Can-Am build story, stellar images and more exciting info on the custom Can-Am Maverick side-by-side vehicles on his social media channels and on the Hoonigan Racing Division blog: www.hooniganracing.com/blog/KB-Custom-Can-Am-Maverick-Turbos/
