King Shocks Factory Tour

King-Shocks-Factory-Tour-1_tnThere are very few companies in the motorsports industry that have the reputation of having the absolute best products available. King Shocks is one of those companies. I had a chance to peak behind closed doors at King Shocks to get a glimpse at how they achieve this level of performance and customer satisfaction.

Located in Garden Grove, CA, King Shocks has eclipsed several buildings in their block, each containing a different piece of the shock manufacturing process. From rapid prototyping to CNC machines and fulfillment, the entire process is handled right there in Garden Grove. In today’s economy, American made performance parts are hard to come by, but spending a few minutes with King Shocks clearly illustrates why they keep their processes in house – they desire to be the best.

King-Shocks-Factory-Tour-17_tnPrice is no object here – The General Tire Class 1 car uses King Shocks.Strolling through any race contingency, off road vehicle show, starting line or finish line, quickly illustrates how much of a large market share King Shocks has within the hard-core motorsports market. Look closely underneath most of the top shelf race cars/trucks/UTV’s and you’ll see the unique light blue hue of a King Shocks coilover. There is wisdom in numbers.

King Shocks’ products are torture tested daily during the race season and the off-season. What makes King unique in the industry is that they are flexible enough to quickly react to this constant torture testing and changing market conditions (ex. internal bypass 2.5” UTV shock) to produce needed products, quickly.

King-Shocks-Factory-Tour-3_tnCNC-printed rapid prototyped parts are critical to quickly responding to racer and consumer needs.
They accomplish this by utilizing in-house rapid prototyping machines, years and years of product knowledge, and their in-house production facility. Other shock companies in the industry rely on outsourced labor and production to build their shocks. From a profit standpoint, this is obviously a very successful model, but from a customer service angle, outsourced production leaves much to be desired. “American-made” pride is making a comeback and King Shocks is way ahead of the curve.

If you are in the market for race or recreation shocks and are the type of person that needs the best shocks on the market, King Shocks should be at the top of your list. For any questions, you can contact Kellan Meadows at kellan@kingshocks.com.

Stay tuned. We will soon have an evaluation of the all new King Shocks 2.5” Internal Bypass shocks that we are installing on the single, center seat RZR-XP 900.
